- JOIN EXERCISES NAMELY
“HELANG LAUT 7.B”

To strengthen the relationship, to enhance the mutual
cooperation and to increase the quality and the ability of the
personels, the Indonesian and Brunei Navies holds the seventh
series of a biennial bilateral naval join exercise namely
“Helang Laut 7.B” in Brunei Darussalam on November 29 to
December 3, 2004.

In this exercise, Indonesian Navy involving around 220 personels
and three ships, such as KRI Arun a Logistical Support Ship,
KRI Rencong a Patrol Ship Killer, and KRI Sutanto a Mini Corvet
Ship. The Indonesian Navies in this exercise is under the
commands of the Exercise task force Commander Let.Col. Yusup,
which is upon the arrival of the ships has been received by
Major Abang Abas from the Royal Brunei Navy at the commercial
port of Muara Brunei Darussalam this morning.

After being received at the commercial port of Muara, the
Indonesian Navie’s Commander Let.Col Yusuf and staffs then paid
a courtesy call to the Deputy Chief Of Mission of the Embassy of
the Republic of Indonesia Mr. Bachrun Soebardjo, at the Embassy,
and to the Fleet Commander of Royal Brunei Navy, Let. Col Abdul
Aziz bin Haji Mohd Tamit at the RBN Head Quarters.

The Joint Exercise consist of Sea Based Exercises or
Exercises on the sea and Harbour Based Exercises or exercises on
the Harbour and at the Offices of the Royal Brunei Navie’s Head
Quarter. The two navies will also hold a friendship games such
as foot ball, volley ball, etc. The Indonesian ships and
personel will leave for Indonesia on December 4, 2004.
