MARKED THE OUTSET OF “INDONESIAN MONTH”

In concurrence with the established practice year by year, month of August will become a busy day for Indonesian community in Bandar Seri Begawan. It is because on August 17, 2005, Indonesian will celebrate the 60^th anniversary of the proclamation of the Indonesian Independence.

 

 

On this occasion, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia will conduct various activities such as flag hoisting ceremony, diplomatic reception,  sport competition, blood donation which will be commenced in July and last until August 2005.

 

On Sunday morning of July 24, 2005 at 8 am, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Yusbar Djamil officially declared open the volley ball competition at its premise in Kampung Sungai Hanching by striking the first ball. This competition was joined by Indonesian community and will be finalized until August 7, 2005. 

        On his remarks during the opening ceremony, H.E. Mr. Yusbar Djamil asked all participants to share the moment of the independence day celebration to boost nationalism spirit and to promote good will  among Indonesian community member.

         This year volley ball competition is involving 20 teams which comprise 17 male teams and 3 female teams.
