“SUNGAI AKAR” WOMEN’S
TEAM

WON THE INDONESIAN
NATIONAL DAY VOLLEY BALL CHAMPIONSHIP

 The Women’s team of “Sungai
Akar” was declared as champion for Women’s category at the
Indonesian National Day Volley Ball Championship. The
Indonesian Embassy’s Ladies team won the second place and
“Kerabat Nusantara” quite happy with third position.

The volley ball matches was
conducted at the Embassy of the Republic of
Indonesia, Kampong Sungai
Hanching on
Sunday August 7, 2005 attended
by around 200 supporters.

In another final for men,
“Arbados” emerged
as the winner after beating
“Garuda” at the final round. There were twenty two
teams representing all the Indonesian community residing in
the Sultanate took part in the tournament held since July
24, 2005.

In his remarks during the
closing ceremony of the championship, the Indonesian
Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam H.E Mr. Yusbar Djamil asked
all participants to share the moment of the independence day
celebration to boost nationalism spirit and to promote good
will among Indonesian community member. H.E Mr Yusbar jamil
also asked all Indonesians residing in Brunei Darussalam to
participate in all other activities held by the Embassy in
conjunction with the Indonesian Independence Day
Celebration, especially to participate in the “Flag
Hoisting Ceremony” that will be held at the Embassy of the
Republic of Indonesia in Kg. Sungai Hanching Baru Jalan
Muara on August 17, 2005 at 07.00.
