58^TH BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY OF HIS MAJESTY THE SULTAN

AND YANG DIPERTUAN NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

Assalamualaikum wr.wb

 

I, Yusbar Djamil the ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, would like to first thank Radio Kristal FM for inviting me to participate in its special program today.

 

On this auspicious occasion, it is with great pleasure and privilege that I on behalf of the government and the people of Indonesia extend our most sincere best wishes to his majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Muizzaddin Waddaulah Sultan and Yang Dipertuan of Brunei Darussalam on the occasion of his 58th birthday anniversary.  May God, bless his Majesty with continued happiness, and may the people of Brunei Darussalam enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

 

It is without a doubt that the Indonesian  people fully acknowledge his Majesty as both a leader, and comrade; who with huge compassion, and great wisdom., pays immense attention to the sturdiness of the friendship bonds that both Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia shares.

 

Relations between our two countries have existed and grew  even stronger, since the establishment of  formal diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam twenty years ago in 1984.

 

Over the past twenty years, a warm relationship based on shared political, economic, and social interest between Brunei Darussalam and Indonesia has steadily developed. This is further strengthened by the state visit of his Majesty to Indonesia on April last year, which has brought  about  a successful period of our cordial relation, and reached a level of cooperation at a very high point.

 

Another instance which shows the healthy and warm relationship between our two countries was shown just a week ago, over the successful holding of the First Direct Indonesian Presidential General Election on July 5, 2004;  where more than 3200 Indonesian registered voters in Brunei Darussalam cast their votes at the Indonesian Embassy.  For this, the credit not only belongs to the Indonesian alone, but also to the Bruneian parties concerned, who contributed their kind assistance and cooperation willfully.

 

It is therefore my conviction that the friendship and cooperation between our two countries, will continue to escalate due to our common endeavours to attain greater accomplishments for our people's future well being.

 

Finally, I would. like to take this opportunity to once again convey my sincerest wishes and congratulations to his Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiali Sultan and yang Dipertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam and through Radio Kristal  FM to the people of Brunei Darussalam on His 58^th Birthday anniversary     May God Bless his Majesty the Sultan with continued good health, long life, and wisdom.  Furthermore, may the people of Brunei Darussalam enjoy continued prosperity and happiness.
